I was walking amoungst the crowd and happened to spot this gentle soul watching me, I have seen him around the streets and he wears this "outfit" every day. Such gentle eyes.
On another note, a special welcome to my wonderful friend Kevin!! Welcome to our Aminus3 family, I am sure you are going to love it here!

Cette photo me fait penser a un film que j’ai beaucoup aimé « The Fisher King » avec Robin williams ;-)

You've done him proud with this photograph, and captured the gentle eyes you've seen extremely well. Must be quite a story behind this man.

@dobbino: Wow, that is really lovely of you to say Rob, thank you so much, you are very kind, I appreciate your wonderful comment.
@Ana Lúcia: I am glad you smiled, thank you Ana ;o)
He looks like an old sweetie and I can well imagine that he has many stories to tell. I wonder why he dresses like that. Very good capture and he does have very gentle eyes.
25 Sep 2008 6:29am
@Marion: Thanks for your lovely comments Marion, I am not really sure and have wondered myself why he dresses like that, he seems to have a message to convey... I am not sure what. The amazing thing was after I cought this image and he realised I was taking his photo, he put his arms out beside him in an open embrace like gesture, and actually looked like Jesus Christ. It was so freaky, unfortunately the picture was not as sharp as this as I was moving and dodging a crowd, but yes those eyes are amazing and seem to have a lot of stories to tell. Thanks for your lovely words!
such kind eyes indeed!! and this is certainly a mystical and majestic portrait of him!! what a wonderful soul! and that kimono-like poncho is just to die for! faaabulous shot! faaabulous catch! there is magic in his eyes! bravo!!

25 Sep 2008 7:16am
@Florence: Yeah, Siam thought the same Florence, he does look like Robin Williams I think, maybe it's the eyes! Thanks for stopping by ;o)
I wish this king could rule the world, he's got such a lovely and kind expression on his face that I would trust him with the job! ;) I guess he's living in his own world, but what a beautiful and colorful world he has created.
25 Sep 2008 7:35am
@Monique: I bet he would have a wonderful and different view on how to rule a world based on kindness and compassion, don't you think. Thanks for your great comments Monique!

@kerfendal: Thank you Kerfendal :o)
He is certainly a King, a King of kindness and humility judging by those eyes:-)) A beautiful image Kyles, how wonderful that you saw him....I would have been tempted to speak to him, but on the other hand he seems like such a mystical/magical/spiritual being, that maybe this image is enough to convay his meaning/presence. Ooooo, its all very spiritual and inspiring!! But then thats what you do my friend when there is you and your camera!!! Love it!
25 Sep 2008 9:01am
@Linerberry: Oh Liners, you made me cry!!! In a good way, I am so touched. This is so so appreciated... as is your friendship! Thank you my friend!
I agree with many comments here. When I opened the photo, the first thing ocurred was the movie The Fisher King and then that this man looks like Robin Williams. He really has very generous eyes, and a very humble face. At the same time I feel loneliness... The question is why is he dressing like this? Running/hidding from something? Living in his own world? Who knows... But the most captivating this is in fact the eyes! Great moment Kylie.
25 Sep 2008 9:30am
@Rui: I love your comments here Rui, thank you so much, I think I am going to have to watch that movie again now ;o), thanks for stopping by.

'Well hello Sir'. He does indeed have very kind eyes and a very benevolent smile. Such a colourful costume too. Beautiful portrait Kylie and so unusual, just amazing to have been able to capture this. He looks so pleased that you're taking his photo.

@lisa v: Hahha, thanks Lisa, he did seem very please and happy to oblige while I snapped, the shot that followed he opened his arms as if to embrace me, my Dad thinks I should print this and take it down to him there on the street where I suspect he lives. I wonder what he would think... or what I would say. Thanks for your lovely comments!
What an interesting character you found Kylie.
25 Sep 2008 11:54am
I am intrigued by all the things he has hanging around his neck (especially the little globe). I wonder what the purpose is really. I agree, he has wonderfully gentle eyes, you captured him really well. If you often see him around, maybe you could print a copy to show him. I am sure he would love to see this.
25 Sep 2008 12:15pm
What a sweet man in the middle of this crazy world... does he know how to read the future... I need a few questions answered right now...
25 Sep 2008 12:29pm
Interesting regal fellow, he appears very pleased you took his photo. I see a gentle spirit in those eyes. I smiled at Elaine's comment. Come to think of it we need another candidate here to run for President. This man may have all of the answers to world peace.

great capture... soemtimes, people you dont know about (just their familiar presence) just disappear and you wonder where they are.. least u'll still have this greta potrait of him. likethat blur on the left..like the world walking past him and he's constant
26 Sep 2008 1:54am
@Emily Ng: What lovely comments, thank you Emily! :o) The blur on the left was someone walking past, I like your analogy here. Thanks so much for stopping by.
