Inspired by the stunning work of bluechameleon
... a girl and her shadow
If I cried out loud
over sorrows I've Known
And the secrets I've heard
It would ease my mind
Someone sharing the load
But I won't breathe a word
We're two of a kind
Silence and I
We need a chance to talk things over
Two of a kind
Silence and I
We'll find a way to work it out
While the children laughed
I was always afraid
of the Smile of the clown
So I close my eyes
Till I can't see the light
And I hide from the sound
We're two of a kind
Silence and I
We need a chance to talk things over
Two of a kind
Silence and I
We'll find a way to work it out
I can hear the cry
Of the leaf on a tree
As it Falls to the ground
I can hear the call
of an Echoing voice
And there's no one around
We're two of a kind
Silence and I
We need a chance to talk things over
Two of a kind
Silence and I
We'll find a way to work it out

WOW Kyles! A beautiful b&w image, so solitary and sad. Perfect composition with the shadow mirror image. Beautiful lyrics too, also very moving. This is really great work!

this is just stunning! the composition is so good! ,and the b&w is clear with strong contrast which is what was needed for this. A powerful and effective image, completed by the poem. Great work Kylie.

Like this beautiful play of light and shadow and this quiet moment face to face with oneself. And Alan Parsons makes me think about great memories.... :-))

Such moving and wonderful words to go with a most beautiful image:-) My dear friend you have really captured a moment in time here....a moment that speaks in a thousand languages! The shadow is quite remarkable and I'm pretty much blown away by this image....right down the the sprinkling of leaves on the ground. You are a STAR my friend:-)))) Nice direction to BC blog too...thank you:-))

Nice work on light and shadow Kylie. I like her "reflection" on the pavement !
24 Sep 2008 11:09am
Woa! This is very cool Kylie! the strong shadows and contrasts make for a very dramatic photo! The random leaves on the grounds make it seem all the more lonely.....fantastic work, but then I always love your images :)
(thank you)

24 Sep 2008 2:15pm
Superb! classic b&w and the silhouettes whoa, that's outstanding! You've done Blue, proud, I'm sure ;)
24 Sep 2008 2:52pm
Strong image, observing the woman from a distance. The shadow is excellent, and I'm pleased that you didn't cut or crop it away.
24 Sep 2008 3:22pm
This is a really intriguing and interesting image. There are leaves on the ground, and yet the pages of her book don't look blown around. Makes me think it may be an autumn shot? Anyway - it's incredibly well done - love it!

Oops! Hit the button too soon - the words and title are absolutely appropriate too!
24 Sep 2008 4:33pm
I will 'Napster' the Alan Parsons Project as soon as I hit 'send' here - it has been years. The is a fabulous capture. Well seen and well produced!

Great B/W, very nice atmosphere! It looks like a sweet place to lay and read a book.
24 Sep 2008 7:22pm
It was nice from you to say this image was inspired by the work of BC. On the other hand it leads inevitably to comparisons.
Without comparing, I would say I like this image very much. But it's a harder image, not as the soft, dreamy images of BC. So they are different as they should be.
24 Sep 2008 8:08pm
@António Pires: Thank you for your comments Antonio and yes I totally agree it is different and a harder image for sure. I have never thought to capture the shadows until I saw Blue's work and I find it fascinating, almost and extention of the person which was the inspiration here, I really appreciate your lovely comments.
This is fantastic B&W imagery, the contrast and shapes really work together to create a terrific image, nice shot.

seule sur un banc en attendant son amoureux, superbe noir et blanc
24 Sep 2008 9:17pm
Wonderful capture Kylie and it suits the poem so well. Very artistic and well done.
24 Sep 2008 10:31pm
i think you did an awesome job with this BW ... i'm jealous :-)) wouldn't it be great if you could just send her the picture...that would make her day for sure.

@[suvni:R]: Thanks for your wonderful comments Suvnir, I assume you mean it would be nice if Bluechamelon could see it? She already has and commented above which was very touching, thanks for stopping by my friend!
Beautiful Kylie the lyrics fit so well with the photo. I can't get over how much this person looks like my sister.
24 Sep 2008 11:46pm
You should be proud of this B/W picture. I like the framing showing the real things and the shadow.
25 Sep 2008 12:34am
it's like the time stopped! What an image!
25 Sep 2008 1:33am
i actually meant the woman in the photo :-) sorry for not being too clear. I tend to leave out sentences sometimes :-)
25 Sep 2008 1:33am
@[suvni:R]: Hahha, you are funny, thanks for claifying... she wasn't even aware I was taking her photo this lady... don't you love those sneaky shots... she may be horified if she knew LOL, cheers Suvnir!
I feel like that sometimes... to just sit somewhere - alone...
25 Sep 2008 1:58am
great shadow work - really like the composition and treatment.
25 Sep 2008 10:16pm
There's something very lonely here, even with that wicked hook of her high heel. She's waiting for something, but that's not the point. The waiting holds all the meaning.
26 Sep 2008 4:39am
Lovely shadows! This is great in B&W, I love the lonely mood.
26 Sep 2008 10:41am
Superb BW image!! Love the perfect defined lines of the shadow.
27 Sep 2008 2:16am
That is absolutley beautiful. I am another BC fan.

This is a really haunting image, Kylie. You've pushed the contrast practically to the limit, and it looks very good like this.
