A fern leaf, just experimenting with very shallow DOF in afternoon sun.
Tonight as I post this I learn that one of our friends is leaving AM3. I was suprised at how sad I felt and I realised how much the comments here on these pages means so much to me and how you have all become like my family. I look forward to visiting you all each day (time permitting) and the comments you leave are so inspirational. Here's to you my AM3 family, thank you to all of you that make me smile, make me laugh, leave me sitting here in awe, you're the best!

A really cool abstract. I'd love to see this as a mural - printed big, big, big. Nicely done.

@Stephen Phillips: Hahh, you are too kind, thanks Stephen... how big? :o)
Excellent shot. I like the blue below and green above. Those yellowish dots at the base of each leaf add an interesting effect. I like it.

@Steve Rice: Thanks Steve, it's quite bizzare really because I have not played with the colour in this image at all, it certcainly didn't appear to have such great tones when I was shooting it, but as I ajusted the contrast a little it turned out like this. Thanks for stopping by and for your great comments!
@Zygene: Merci Zygene. :o)
Very interesting photo Kylie. Love the way the colour changes and the little balls of light. I too love Am3 I can't wait til 5pm to turn on the computer and see what everyone has posted for the day.

@dj.tigersprout: I want some of what you're having :o), thanks so much DJ, truly great comments my freind!
WOW FANTASTIC. This really is a wonderful shot and a magnificent work with DoF. A fantastic abstract. And I agree with Stephen... this would be great to see printed in a large format.
About your comment about a friend leaving, I know exactly how you feel... we get used to this, and to the people that nomally visit us and leave their comments. For me, even not knowing everybody personally, I consider all like my friends... There is a group of people that normally comment me, and when someone doesn't appear I always wonder if something happened... So thanks for all your inspirational, motivating and funny comments.

@Giovanni: You are very kind Giovanni, thanks so much for your great comments ;o)
great abstract - I would have guessed a colorful xylophone !
It is sad to see people come and go but I suppose that is the cyclical nature of this world of ours - think of all the new people just coming to Am3 trying to find their way and how nice it is to have you all out there ready to make them feel at home.

@Jason Kravitz: Thanks Jason, so so true, I bet you have seen a few people come and go since you guys set up the site, it is life and I look forward to all the new people that will join us tomorrow and the day after and the day after that. It is a great community and a wonderful site! Thanks for your super cool comments, and for stopping by!
@Jean-Benoît Maréchal: Thank you very much JP for you kind comments.
This is really creative. I find myself being drawn along the "spine" of the fern-vertebrae image, to take in every angle, color, and point of light.
Plus I share the surprise and sadness you describe at the sudden departure of a significant member of the Am3 "family" - she is someone who will be missed by all.

16 Sep 2008 5:59pm
That is very cool. I need to try more of this extreme closeup stuff because the results are very interesting.
16 Sep 2008 7:52pm
It's a brilliant abstract, the shades of colours looks lovely, as do the rows of lights
16 Sep 2008 8:25pm
Amazing shot, great DOF and super colours, it has a wonderful abstract quality to it, I would never have thought it was a fern, amazing.
16 Sep 2008 9:43pm
Wow - that is amazing - I thought it was a reflection of a gas stove! Very very cool shot.
17 Sep 2008 2:39am
Toute expérience est bonne, on avance dans sa personnalité. J'aime ce shot , une peinture de vert. Continu Kylie .

A work of art. As many ferns as I've grown through the years I wouldn't have guessed it.
