Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesYour composition is quite compelling and the choice of B&W perfect. 28 Aug 2008 5:15am dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesbeautiful a handsome and captivating shot indeed! i love the addition of the wallet and glasses -- adds a nice personal touch. gorgeous b/w! 28 Aug 2008 5:59am Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaI have always loved shots like this and it is wonderful in b&w. Its a cracker mate:-)) 28 Aug 2008 6:34am @Linerberry: Cheers mate, really appreciate it! ;o) @Erik: Many thanks Erik, much appreciated! Maxine from Rangiora, New ZealandTwo sets of tools the old and the new! Great shot Kylie. 28 Aug 2008 10:33am @Maxine: It is indeed, glad you picked up on the irony in the image, thanks so much for your comments Max! Rui from Leiria, PortugalNice BW composition. I disagree with Siam a little bit in respect to DoF. It depends on what you intend to highlight. If you wanted to highlight just the wallet and glasses, it's a good work. But this is just my humble opinion. And in those things is always very subjective. It also depends on the way you analyse it. 28 Aug 2008 11:19am @Rui: Thank you for your lovely comments Rui, and you are right it is all in the way you analyse it, I perhaps should have put a comment on this that I found it ironic on a stall of old tools that there amoungst them were an old man's current tools, his glasses, pen and notebook. It was intentional the shallow DOF to focus on these in the foreground with a hint of the old tools in the background, but perhaps I needed to explain how I found it ironic. Thank you for visiting, it's always a pleasure to read your comments! Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomStraight out of a murder plot from a 'Miss Marples' film. Superb BW and great idea. 28 Aug 2008 12:02pm willow from Chelsea, United StatesGreat composition. I like the contrasting textures of the rough cloth against the smooth leather. 28 Aug 2008 12:46pm Florence from Paris, FranceThat's a great still-life, and this b&w is "awfully" beautiful ! :-) Well done Kylie and many thanks for your sweet message today. 28 Aug 2008 4:41pm Kenton from Calgary, CanadaFantastic, good composition, excellent choice for b&w. 28 Aug 2008 7:17pm bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaBeautiful still like and composition Kylie! 28 Aug 2008 8:40pm jamesy from christchurch, New Zealandnice photo kylie seems somehow about a past life perfect in black and white well done 28 Aug 2008 9:08pm Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesGood image, Kylie - a classic view well seen and well done. 29 Aug 2008 1:09am Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesLots to muse about here...
