I love how everything is soft focus except the forelegs and torso. Fabulous, Kylie. 5 Aug 2008 5:57am @Stephen Phillips: Thank you Stephen, such lovely comments and very much appreciated. Siam from Chaingrai, ThailandMacro juste , par contre tu ne pense pas que le diaphragme étais un peut grand comme ouverture, pour avoir plus de netteté sur les pattes d'arrière. Siam 5 Aug 2008 6:10am @Siam: Thank you Siam :o) zOOm from Paris, FranceGreat specimen Kylie and what a great macro... he's got a terrific attitude ! 5 Aug 2008 6:12am @zOOm: Thanks zOOm, I thought he had great attitude also... he hung out on my rose bush for about 3 days and seemed to change his colour to blend with the reds in the new leaves, amazing little fellow! Thanks my friend! Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomIts hard not to put anthropomorphic attributes here, but this grasshopper has the poise of determination in its stance. 5 Aug 2008 9:59am Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomVery cool..... the details are tremendous. 5 Aug 2008 10:25am papa bear from sydney, AustraliaWELL DONE kY. THAT LITTLE FELLA WOULD BE PROUD OF HIS PORTRAIT . you have capture the beauty of God's design in this common grasshopper, this shows that this little creature is NOT common 5 Aug 2008 11:14am Eric Fry from Houston, TX, United StatesThat's a great macro, Kylie! The DoF adds some fantastic impact to the image! 5 Aug 2008 11:24am Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomThey are pretty cute when they are close up, nice composition 5 Aug 2008 12:08pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesTerrific DOF ... lovely palette of colors ... great light ... top-notch macro, Kylie! Thanks for stoopping by Monique! kerfendal from Paris, Francevery entomological accurate shot, what stuck me is the transparency of the cuticule you get so successfully 5 Aug 2008 8:57pm @kerfendal: Thank so much for your lovely comment Kerfendal! Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaThis is a beautiful shot, Kylie. You've caught him/her in a really nice moment. I know it's very difficult to get good DOF in a macro shot, but I think I would have gone for a much higher ISO and smaller aperture to try to do so. Who am I to say, though, as I could never get this far, anyway, and furthermore, what I've suggested may not even fit in with your intentions here. It's lovely, anyway! 5 Aug 2008 11:05pm @Andrew Gould: Thanks Andrew, this image was taken hand held in literally the frist two hours of having the new lens...so I was just practising, have learned heaps since then :o). Thanks for stopping by! Michael Rawluk from Williams Lake, CanadaSimply fabulous. The dark patch of background sure makes it stand out. 6 Aug 2008 12:20am djedfre from schaumburg, United Statesgreat shot - makes me want to go out right now and do some macro! of course it is 2 am... hmmm.
