To me there is something sad about this image, I am not sure what... a single line of glasses waiting for the party to happen, no one turned up perhaps? As the fearce wind blew terriblly cold outside, I took shelter in this small tucked away restaurant, and as I stared at the light that seemed to play with the glasses at this empty table, I just got the feeling of "waiting". The words of this song came to mind today for this post.
The winter here is cold and bitter It's chilled us to the bone I haven't seen the sun for weeks... too long too far from home.
I feel just like I'm sinking... and I claw for solid ground. I'm pulled down by the undertoe I never thought I could feel so low In all the darkness I feel like letting go.
If all of the strength and all of the courage come and lift me from this place. I know I can love you much better than this. Full of Grace.... full of grace... my love.
Its better this way, I 'd say, having seen this place before... where everything we say and do hurts us all the more. Its just that we stay too long, in the same old sickly skin. Pulled down by the undertow, I never thought I could feel so low, in all the darkness I feel like letting go.
If all of the strength and all of the courage come and lift me from this place, I know I can love you much better than this. Full of grace, my love. It's better this way.

@linerberry: Thanks for your lovely comments :o)
Wow! I really like the fragility of this setting, almost abstract in its emotion. As the words say , like life can be, fragile, stark, waiting...

Wow, not often images even get a song :) I like to have a story attached to the image to get it more into context, and you did it great! The b&w shot is really nice, good lights.

@Gnarf: Thank you Gnaf, glad you liked it.

The shot is wellcaptured and the B&W tonality enhances ths play of fight on the glass. The song is beautiful in its own way.

beautiful shot Kylie-- yes the idea of waiting is quite lonely -- a wonderful pairing w/ the lyrics of Sara McLaughlan! (p.s. i love how your dad goes by 'papa bear' that is wonderful!) :)

@dj.tigersprout: Thank you for your lovely comments DJ, really appreciate them... my best friend started it off, she calls him Papa Bear and now it has stuck, the whole family refers to him as that as he really is a cuddly warm Papa Bear. Thanks for visiting!
Great shot, were the glasses like that when you found the table, or did you arrange them that way?
