Boat houses are reminders of recreational pleasure. This is lovely, Kylie. I'm a great fan of sailing.

In answer to your question about my hunch, I'm not sure, I just had a feeling you would have other artistic outlets and painting seemed to suit. Silly really. NZ is good but wish we didn't have such a wicked winter!!! Cheers Kylie

@linerberry: You are very perceptive...not silly at all. Hope the chill eases off soon, it's freezing in Sydney at the moment also :o(... bring on spring! Stay warm!
Very well composed. in a complex image, the house has the focus.

I like the beautiful composition that draws us into the shot. Also, the processing really adds punch.

@Michael Rawluk: Many thanks for your comments Michael, always an honour to have you visit my page :o)
Good composition and b/w. In my opinion it lacks just a little bit of contrast and unsharp mask. I like the scene, a wonderful place.

@lucie: Thank you Lucie, this was a particularly harsh shot in colour when I took it, I liked the image but I hadn't caputured what was in my mind, so I converted to B&W edited in PS as I did want it to look dreamy, like a place you remember spending your summer holidays, thanks for your comments here on this, much appreciated.
Love the lighting in this one, and the B&W works a treat!

j'aime beaucoup le noir et blanc, celui-ci est toujours d'un bel effet et retrace des ambiances que la la couleur ne peu pas rendre, bravo pour les effets de lumière
